Dignity Action Day - Chinese New Year at Elizabeth Court Care Centre
As a dignity Champion, Dignity Action Day is a very important day to me to emphasize to everyone how essential it is to promote Dignity throughout the Home.
This year I wanted to do something different and the Chinese New Year was suggested to me.
This was a great challenge and a fantastic idea and I set to work planning for 8th February 2016.
I started by making a dragon with two heads which I drew copying a smaller picture and then stiched two pop-up laundry bins together to make the body, which I then decorated with tissue paper, feathers and fur. I am in the process of making all my own bunting to decorate the Home as brightly as possible.
I have spoken to the Home Manager to ask permission for Chef to include some Chinese nibbles for the afternoon. I am trying to find entertainment for the event and suggested to families if anyone would like to dress up this would be great to see.
We are an amazing team at Elizabeth Court Care Centre and I am proud and privileged to be park of a dedicated workforce.
